The Team

With its rich history as a family-owned business, it’s no surprise that the leadership team at Powers Roofing and Sheet Metal all have the same last name. The Powers family is dedicated to the service-oriented business model that has been in the family for three generations. It is no wonder that many of the employees at Powers Roofing and Sheet Metal have been with the company for well over 15 years, a rarity in their industry. We are committed to safety and ensure our employees are too. We have the latest in fall protection equipment, and have an outstanding safety history.

Paul Powers – President

Paul Powers – President

Paul Powers’ career with Powers Roofing and Sheet Metal started in childhood when he worked part-time for the company his father started. He began working full-time in the 1970s after graduating from the University of Maine, Orono with a degree in mechanical engineering. As president, Paul oversees all operations of the family business; a job he took over when his father, Justin, retired in 1986. Paul was a large part of switching the roof assemblies from asphalt to single ply membrane systems in northern Maine. He continues to effectively run the business, staying on top of changing economic structures throughout northern Maine, while helping businesses plan and budget for their roofing needs. He is an active member of the community, including the Caribou Rotary Club, and has served on several local nonprofit boards. Paul is currently a member of the Katahdin Trust Co. Board of Directors. When Paul isn’t too busy working, he enjoys puttering around at the lake fixing and remodeling his camp.

John Powers – Construction Superintendent

John Powers – Construction Superintendent

John Powers worked part-time for his father, Justin, as he grew up and served his country overseas prior to joining the family business full-time in 1984. As construction superintendent, his supervisory role on the roof has helped the company consistently complete projects on time and on budget. Not to mention his un-matched commitment to managing the crews and overseeing all the equipment as it is moved from job to job. John was active member of local snowmobile clubs, where he used his collaborative efforts to streamline four separate clubs into one. Today, John is a leader for the local Boy Scouts and spends countless hours volunteering and helping with the organization’s projects. In his spare time, John enjoys hunting or fishing.

Brian Powers has worked part-time for the family business since he was 15. He joined Powers Roofing and Sheet Metal full-time after graduating from the University of Maine, Orono with degrees in Engineering Technology in 2006 and Construction Management in 2008. As project manager and estimator, Brian works alongside his brother Justin always looking ahead and planning our next project and juggling our ever changing schedules. Brian’s commitment to the company extends to the roof as well, taking on his own crew when multiple projects are in construction at the same time. Brian volunteers with local youth Nordic skiing programs and as an assistant coach with the Caribou High School Nordic program. In his free time, Brian enjoys working out or playing peek-a-boo with his little girl.

Justin Powers – Project Manager and Estimator

Justin Powers – Project Manager and Estimator

Like his brother, Justin Powers has worked part-time for the family business since he was a teenager. Before joining the family business full-time in 2010, Justin earned his master’s degree in architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. After graduation, he worked as a project manager for a roofing company in the Boston area. As project manager and estimator, Justin is continually bidding on projects for the upcoming season. He also works with building owners and general contractors, ensuring their commitment and progress to the given project. Justin also knows that a strong work ethic is necessary for a successful business and helps on the roof whenever and where ever it is needed. Justin sits on the executive committee for Noreaster Exposure Facility, a company dedicated to testing and development of new and old products for large manufacturers.  For fun, Justin enjoys running, biking, spending time at the lake and taking part in just about any water sport.
